Treat yourself to an elegant piece of furniture, like the Tavern Table above, hand-crafted by John F. Drago with quality old-world joinery, a hand rubbed wax finish and solid wood construction. A piece like this will hold its value and will be an heirloom for generations to come. ![]() Tavern Tables were popular in America and Britain from the late 17th to the early 19th century. The tavern table was a simple rectangular table top and turned legs with three stretchers connecting them. This sturdy piece with its strong design and spacious knee clearance was a perfect match for a crowded and rowdy taverns of yesteryears, Thanksgiving dinner with the relatives or a formal dinner. Let us recreate this table or work with you on a design of your own. We are presently working on a matching sideboard. Look for it in the months to follow.

The Headboard above is 11' long, 2' deep , measures 4'6'' at its highest point and weighs just over 600 pounds. Its main construction including the curved back piece, side walls, and two night stands are built in one piece with a veneer over it to give the appearance of a seamless cube of maple. The top is solid cherry with a shadow line cut into the bottom of it and steam bent over the curves. A clear lacquer finish was applied and the total assembly is one piece. The only removable parts are the doors and drawers.
